Connecting New Mexico to Succeed

Broadband and education information technology (IT) can transform learning and teaching in New Mexico, reducing geographic and financial barriers to online opportunities.

Equality of Access to Online Education

We will provide consistent high-speed connectivity, a collaborative game plan, and an environment that fosters global competition.

Broadband Brings Change

Broadband technologies also benefit our community and economy through online training, certificate programs, and communication.

EducationSuperHighway Brings Expertise & Resources to NM

EducationSuperHighway is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to upgrade the Internet access in schools across America. This organization partnered with Governor Martinez along with several New Mexico state agencies in a project advisory role, providing assessments, reports, and training to help upgrade K-12 broadband infrastructure across the state. They also provide direct assistance to school districts in New Mexico that need network upgrades.

EducationSuperHighway is well known for their work that helped shape President Obama’s ConnectED initiative and served as a catalyst for modernization of the Federal Communications Commission’s $3.9 billion E-rate program.

GenYES Promotes Technology for Learning

The primary goal of Generation YES (GenYES) is to provide support and resources to schools using technology for improved learning opportunities and academic achievement.

Through the GenYES program, teams of students in participating schools have an opportunity to become Student Technology Leaders (STLs) by completing challenges designed by IT Professionals that could potentially lead to employment at local or sponsoring businesses.

Future Ready Schools Increases Digital Learning Opportunities

Future Ready Schools is a project of the Alliance for Excellent Education featuring leadership summits co-hosted by the U.S. Department of Education.

Technology now allows for personalized digital learning for every student in the nation so long as leaders have the technological infrastructure and human capacity in place to ensure success.  At the heart of this project is the Future Ready Framework, which is a robust structure for digital learning visioning, planning, and implementation focused on Personalized Student Learning.
